American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Code of Ethics. (Link)
This is a general code that describes basic ethical practice for ASME members.
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Code of Ethics (Link)
Like the ASME code, this one is very general. It is an aspirational code articulating ideals that IEEE members commit themselves to, but it does not address specific situations.
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Code of Ethics (Link)
This page contains links to the Ethics Code and Guidelines to Practice, as well as background information on the edict, methods of enfocement and education. The code includes fundamental canons and rules of practice for consulting engineers.
Association of Computer Machinery (ACM) Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct (Link)
This code was created by a task force with a strong representation of philosophers and sociologists who teach computer ethics.
American Physical Society (APS) Guidelines for Professional Conduct (Link)
First adopted by the APS in 1991, this code addresses research ethics.
American Chemical Society (ACS) Ethical and Professional Guidelines (Link)
This page contains links to guidelines for academic professionals and chemical professionals as well as information on plagiarism, professional employment, and ethical guidelines for chemical research.
Student Pugwash USA (SPUSA) Pledge (Link)
Written by a student, a postdoctoral Mechanical Engineering fellow at the University of California at Berkley, the Student Pugwash USA pledge favorably passed the review of the Senior Committee. The language of the pledge is a compromise. Originally, the chapter proposed using the SPUSA pledge given on cards which were carried to Oslo for the autumn 1995 Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies.
