Jason Borenstein, Ph.D., is the Director of Graduate Research Ethics Programs and co-Director of the Center for Ethics and Technology at Georgia Tech. During his time at Georgia Tech, he has taught graduate courses on the subject of the responsible conduct of research (RCR) and undergraduate courses such as Biotechnology & Ethics, Ethics & the Technical Professions, Philosophy of Science, and Science & Values in the Policy Process. His research interests include engineering ethics, robotic ethics, human subjects research, genetic ethics, and ethics assessment.

Dr. Borenstein’s work has appeared in various journals including Science and Engineering Ethics, AI & Society, the Journal of Academic Ethics, IEEE Technology & Society, Accountability in Research, and Studies in Ethics, Law, and Technology. He has given presentations at venues such as NSPE's online ethics seminar series and at annual meetings of the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics (APPE). He is also an active non-member participant in the Atlanta Metro Chapter of GSPE and is the Director of the CITI RCR for Engineers Project , an online educational course for engineering researchers.

In 2001, Dr. Borenstein earned his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Miami . His dissertation, entitled Expertise and the Courts, examined philosophical issues relating to expert witness testimony. During the summer of 2001, he worked as a Christine Mirzayan Intern for the Science, Technology, and Law Program within the National Academy of Sciences. In 2000, he worked as a summer intern for AAAS's Scientific Freedom, Responsibility and Law Program.
